Since I remember, my mother always had wonderful smelling potpourri around the house. Every month she would change the fragrance so the house would have a different inviting new smell! Sometimes it was a lovely gardenia scented potpourri and other times, lilac or merlot. Of course when I moved out and got my own home, this nice tradition became part of my life too! Now, all my children have moved out and I’m on my own. I needed to find a hobby to fill my empty days with and making something useful out of different looking and smelling potpourris, sounded like fun!
So, I sat down and brain stormed for a while and then I had an idea of making lovely fragrant potpourri balls made out of a sponge material. I started with digging out a 2 inch hole at the top of the sponge ball. Then I filled it with an essential oil for the sponge to absorb and boost up the aroma, before I covered it with colorful, fragrant potpourri. To finish it off I added a beautiful silk ribbon, so you could hang it, as either a lovely accent to your home or for giving a nice potpourri fragrance to all your clothes in your closet or drawers. I’m having a lot of fun plus I don’t have to worry about what to give for birthdays and Christmas’s anymore!

I’ve been going through a divorce for about a year now, but finally I can see the light at the end of the tunnel. I should have listened to my mother 5 years ago, when she told me that this marriage wouldn’t last, but I was in love! Hopefully I’ll learn from my mistakes and be more careful next time around. Anyway, my soon to be ex husband moved out last week and I couldn’t be happier about that!
But I tell you, even though he’d moved out… I was still very irritated and upset! My usual nightly routine, of lighting my favorite soothing vanilla scented candles, wasn’t working anymore. But then it hit me, could it be that the Vanilla scented Candles remembered me of him? I got out my bleach and started disinfecting everything in the house, in hope to get rid of any vanilla candle “smell”.
Then I quickly went on the internet and ordered my second favorite candle fragrance…Strawberry scented candles with essential oils to get the true strawberry aroma. When they arrived I lit all of the candles and once the mouthwatering strawberry scent filled the air… I felt all my aggravations, just run out of my body and fill me with a sense of calmness and joy. So, out with the old husband and in with my new favorite Strawberry Scented Candles!

One of my many girlfriends is getting married soon and we’re throwing “another” traditional bachelorette party! I think it’s the third one this year with lots of alcohol, candy and naked dancing men! I don’t mean to sound cruel, but these never ending bachelorette parties are becoming quite a bore. When and if it ever becomes my turn to get hitched, maybe I feel better about them!
This time I was going to do something a little different, instead of skimpy lingerie that are getting skimpier by each party and let’s not forget the blond wig… I was getting her an elegant Candle Gift Sets! I’d found a great Candle Gift Set that contained rose scented candles…her favorite fragrance and some pretty pink Votive candles as well.
When the party was pretty much over, the booze and candy was gone plus the male strippers had left, it was time to open the presents. And like clockwork, here starts the never ending parade of sexy lingerie, thongs and garter belts…Before I was ready to leave, she came over and whispered in my ear; I so appreciate you getting me that beautiful Rose Scented Candle Gift set… I’ll never get my nerve up to wear any of that way too sexy lingerie; at least I got something I can use, thanks to you!!!

My kid brother still lives at home and he just turned 32! He’s a total mama’s boy and he has always been kind of a late bloomer. One day my mother told me that he’s been dating a girl for a while and he hasn’t said much about her. But my mother has noticed a rather strange smell “oozing” from his clothes and hair, when he arrives home after a night with her. She can’t quite put her finger on it, but she doesn’t want to ask him about it.
Anyhow, last week my brother was ready for the family to meet her, so we were all suppose to meet for dinner over at his girlfriends place. I tell you, the minute we walked into her apartment; we knew exactly where that strange aroma was coming from… Incense Sticks and strange gothic looking Incense Burners everywhere and the air was thick with Incense smelling smoke. So when dinner was ready, she might as well have served an old shoe, I wouldn’t have known the difference.
I whispered in my mother’s ear; “How about some nice smelling Scented Candles”! My mother looked my straight in the eye, and said; don’t you dare to say absolutely nothing! She wants my brother to move out real bad! So, some strange smelling Incense Sticks and scary looking Incense Burners are certainly not going to stop that from happening, Hey, I don’t blame her bit!

My daughter is getting married this summer at the end of July, and she wants that perfect beautiful summer wedding, every girl dream of. I and my daughter’s future mother in-law are trying to stay out of the wedding plans as much as we can, and will only help when we are asked to. It’s hard for both of us; because we feel that we have so much positive input we can provide for her. Well anyway, we were allowed to check out her what to do “wedding list” and we both noticed that she had completely forgotten to write down wedding candles. Here was our chance to get somewhat involved without my daughter getting all upset, after all, she was the one who forgot about all the wedding candles.

Me and my girlfriends always fight over which one gets to use her favorite Scented Candles, reed diffusers, or potpourri for our intimate dorm parties. I mean, we can’t have lots of different aromas floating around the room; people will get dizzy, so we decided to have a contest. The one that would make the best argument for their favorite one would win, and get to use it at our parties for a whole month. Of course we got into a fight when we’re all trying to convince each other why one is better than the other.

I wish I’d remembered to fill my pool with beautiful floating Candles, when my stepson got married in my backyard eight years ago! Now, my oldest son got married a few weeks ago, also in my backyard and this time around I decided to light up the pool. I decorated the pool with hundreds of floating candles which definitely brought more of an ambiance and beauty to the backyard. But wow, did my stepson get upset with me, when he arrived to the wedding….why didn’t he get to have the pool filled with floating pool candles at his wedding. I sadly replied, I just didn’t’ think of it!

I had this huge fight with my boyfriend and I was miserable; I couldn’t eat, sleep or even go to work; all I could do was cry. But I wasn’t going to call him until he called me; after all he was the one who started it all. My mother was actually getting a little worried about me, since neither I, nor my boyfriend seemed to want to make up any time soon. I was starting to wonder if he was ever going to call. But like always, here comes mother to the rescue!

Me and all my girlfriends have finally finished our three month diet plan! Now,we all decided we need to celebrate all the weight we lost by throwing a “finally skinny” party. But we don’t want to gain any weight back,so a “low fat” menu is on the agenda. One of my girlfriends had this great idea that the accent should be on fruit, lots of different kinds of fruit. Another girl said; how about Fruit Scented Wax Tarts and Wax Melts as a perfect addition to our party.
