A Fathers Day Evening with Alluring Candy-Scented Candles

Wednesday, June 4th, 2008

This year I’m determine to spend a romantic candle light Fathers Day evening with my husband, instead of watching him fall asleep in front of the TV, after the children have gone to bed!! He always has this great project planned for each Fathers Day, to work on. It’s either a new barbeque to assemble or a new ping-pong table to put together which by the way, all ways seems to have missing pieces or to many pieces that will frustrate the “you know what” out of him.

Make your house glow

Monday, June 2nd, 2008

Do you ever notice when you watch one those decorating shows on HGTV or TLC that the rooms exude an outstanding glow? Now one might think the power of television took this dull old house and transformed it in 24 hours and with $200 into a house that can grace the covers of some serious design magazines. The power of TV is amazing but that’s not what’s making these transformed rooms glow, its the candles. These rooms are “fixed” during the day and end result is filmed at night allowing them to exploit the power of the candles.

So what are your plans for Valentines day

Monday, June 2nd, 2008

Valentine’s Day is fast approaching and it seems like everyone around me is trying to come up with something spectacular. But what exactly is spectacular? I think my husband is spectacular, so I’m just happy to be with the man I love. I don’t want to go in a hot air balloon or take a carriage ride through the park. I just want to be with my man. I’m simple in that way. All I want is a nice dinner, and some time to snuggle with my honey by the fire.

Designer Candles

Monday, June 2nd, 2008

I love to shop, I love fashion, I am your typical girly girl. I buy all the new makeup that comes out and I have fallen in LOVE with designer jeans, but designer candles? I don’t know. I cant see a reason to spend $80 plus on a candle. If I was going to spend that kind of money on a candle there better be multiple candles in there or last for a year. But no, these are single regular candles. I understand that they are made by expensive designers and they come in beautiful glass jars, but come on! So what is the difference?

Votive Candles the little inexpensive trick

Monday, June 2nd, 2008

Votive candles are a quick little inexpensive trick to make any room or any occasion something special.

I just had a girls night at my house. It was on a Thursday night, so it was a little hectic with work and the kids but I really wanted to make it something special as we do not get to get together as much anymore. Kids watching the new Shrek in the next room and us in the kitchen eating fondue and drinking great wine.

How great are aromatherapy candles

Monday, June 2nd, 2008

I always talk about how great scented candles are but I want to touch on how great aromatherapy candles are too. Aromatherapy candles are still scented candles, but they are candles with a purpose. There is calming lavender and vanilla, citrus to wake you up and many others. They are perfect bathroom and bedroom candles.

Calming aromatherapy candle scents are perfect for before bed and relaxing in the tub. They also of course, add a great decorative touch to almost any decor. I actually love to light a citrus scented candle in the morning to really wake me up.

Aromatherapy candles are made with essential oils and are favorites of many spas. They have a softer scent, but still are able to achieve filling the whole room with fragrance. So try some out, see how you like them, maybe a nice vanilla scented aromatherapy candle for Valentine’s Day. Please leave some posts and let me know what other great scents are out there and their purpose.

Scented Candles vs Incense

Monday, June 2nd, 2008

There has always been debate on which is better,
scented candles or incense. Well a debate for those people who like to have a signature scented home.

A long time ago in my adolescents I loved incense. It definitely had a vibe to it that is hard to explain. I think it was the smoke effect that did it, until you set off the fire alarm. Incense was also pretty messy because of the ash from burning it, and should never be left unattended.
