Ideas for candle centerpieces

June is always a very hectic month for me because, first I have my wedding anniversary, then Father’s Day, then my birthday and then my in-laws wedding anniversary. But this year June is going to be extra special, because it’s our 25th wedding anniversary, my 50th birthday and my in-laws 45th wedding anniversary. Can it get any more hectic than that? Sometimes I wish I would have thought about that before I set my wedding date 25 years ago. Anyway, I was looking into doing something a little easier with my special candle centerpieces this year.

One year I had beautiful floating tea light votive candle centerpieces at my three different occasions which I had made myself. They are really easy to make. I used four apples per candle centerpiece. I carefully carved all the apples out at the top, in the shape of the tea light which where apple scented, and then just place the tea light votive candles into the carved opening of the apples. Fill glass bowls with water and float the lit apple votives, and presto, you have a floating candle centerpiece!! For extra effect I added some red food coloring to the water and some pink tea roses as well. Really beautiful I have to admit!!

Another year I had a “3 piece”, tubular shaped candle holder centerpiece, filled with beautiful smelling potpourri and ball Candles inside. You can fill them with coffee beans, rose petals or beaded garland instead, if you so choose. Under the candle centerpieces I had round antique mirrors which I found at a garage sale a few months earlier. It really brought a wonderful effect to my candle centerpieces and the dinner tables. You can use the tubular shaped candle holders for floating candle centerpieces as well; just fill them with water, with or without added food coloring.

But this year I think I’m going to use 3 different sized pillar candle centerpieces, and have the dishes that I place the pillar Candles in, filled with personalized M&M’s, like Happy 25th ,Happy 45th, and Happy 50th , I think that all the kids, and grandkids will really like that!! And especially me, I don’t have to do too much work putting them together either.
