It’s lit candles instead of firework for us this year!
Unfortunately this 4th of July will be spent at home with lit Outdoor Candles instead of enjoying fireworks with our grandchildren at the beach. When our kids and grandkids showed up about two weeks ago, I knew that trouble was on the horizon.
My grandson’s was carrying a new skateboard under his arm! Out of the corner of my eye I can see my husband galloping towards our grandson and before I had time to yell; No, Honey that skateboard is not for you, he was already on it. Well, it took exactly five seconds for my husband to show off his “not so hot” skateboard skills, because about 20 min. later we are in the emergency room with a broken ankle.
MY husband is of course not a very happy camper right now, so I’m going to cheer him up! If he can’t go to the beach, the beach will come to him. I’m arranging for a picnic on our backyard lawn with all the trimmings. I’m having Ocean Breeze Scented Hurricane Candles, lot’s of them plus Sea Breeze Scented Candle Lanterns too.
All around the lawn, I’m putting up Bamboo Tiki Torches and some citronella Candles, to keep the bugs away. I even went to the beach and filled up a water jug with some sand and ocean water, so he can dip his good foot in it. I’m sure this is going to cheer him up a bit!
