Make your house glow
Do you ever notice when you watch one those decorating shows on HGTV or TLC that the rooms exude an outstanding glow? Now one might think the power of television took this dull old house and transformed it in 24 hours and with $200 into a house that can grace the covers of some serious design magazines. The power of TV is amazing but that’s not what’s making these transformed rooms glow, its the candles. These rooms are “fixed” during the day and end result is filmed at night allowing them to exploit the power of the candles.
Any candle will do, scented candles, votive candles, pillar candles, they just need to be placed strategically around the room. If you can place candles in corners and against walls the light of the candles can bounce off of the surfaces making that very glow you see on Trading Spaces and Designers Challenge. So buy candles of different shapes and sizes even if you don’t know when you are going to use them.
Make sure you always have a bag of votive candles in the house. Having a variety of candles always on hand is key to making your home inviting.
